It's nice and 19 inches. I wonder if they've managed to lie about that. Nice and light. I could actually carry it home. Bought some speakers as well. Decided to boycott any speakers that listed PMPO in writing bigger than RMS power on principle. I now have lots of rubbish consisting of packaging material and dead monitors.
Bought a leather jacket in Camden Town too. Going to Rocky Horror Show as Eddie. Anyone got any idea where I can get a suitable helmet from?
I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get a response from one of the scammers I responded to. They claimed to be a church who were going to give me lots of money. I wanted to see if I could convert them to Satanism. Better stop responding to any new ones. At the moment, I'm buying gold, dealing diamonds, helping a fellow with his large crate of money (Mike Hunt may well delegate this to his inept assistant, Ima Wanker), and handling payments for a UK based artist who seems to spell a lot of words the American way.
I've always liked Wargames. The whole computer stuff is more or less reasonable, and gives the impression that the writers might have actually researched the subject rather than throwing together a load of jargon about Baud rates and RAM and stuff. David actually has to spend a load of time doing research to work out where the back door is. There are a few oddities like WOPR cracking a password one character at a time, and the speech synthesis being attached to every computer but that doesn't really matter.
And Dr. Falken gets a cool line. "I heard every word. I loved the bit where you nuked Las Vegas. Suitably biblical ending to the place, don't you think? "
The moral is a little simplistic. "The nuclear arms race is not a good idea, m'kay". But it's an enjoyable cyberthriller.
The Incredibles has to be my favourite Pixar film. Funny and sinister in places without making the more dramatic moments trivial or the jokes seem forced. Lots of really good characters, and some lovely animation and CGI.
